Just the white rice really really washing ten times, and discard the water. They have the rice washing machine too. With the fried rice, you probably mean the egg mixture, or the soy sauce. When I making these things, you seeing nothing soy sauce in it.

Are they cooked? The same methods any rice cooker procedure, of course they are cooked. I usually don't like the soggy rice, so the methods really comes down the details, the water has to come close, and in the end of that steam cooker lid, has to cover a little bit longer, and you flip the rice to check, and taste it.
Let it cover the lid a little bit longer. Until they are done.
I did do those things. I usually make 2 cup rice, it works perfect a lot more.
